Frequently Asked Questions
What are the admission requirements for engineering programmes?
Admission requirements vary slightly depending on the programme and level (ND or HND). Generally, for both ND and HND, applicants must have at least five (5) relevant O’Level credits including Mathematics, English, Physics, and two other science-related subjects. Additionally for HND applicants, a National Diploma in a relevant field, Jamb admission letter, and evidence of industrial training (SIWES) are required.
Is industrial training (SIWES) compulsory?
Yes. All ND and HND students are required to complete a supervised Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), which bridges academic learning with practical industry experience.
Can I apply for Part-Time studies in Management and Business Studies?
Absolutely. The School of Management and Business Studies offers flexible Part-Time programmes for working professionals or individuals who prefer weekend or evening classes. Part-Time applicants must also meet the minimum academic requirements for their chosen course.
Are there practical labs and hands-on training?
Yes. The School is equipped with laboratories and workshops to support hands-on learning in each department. Students engage in real-world simulations, technical projects, and lab-based coursework throughout their study.
What are my career prospects after graduation?
Graduates from the School of Engineering have strong career opportunities in fields like construction, power and energy, manufacturing, ICT, automation, renewable energy, and oil and gas. Many also pursue entrepreneurship or further academic studies.
